Making A Purchase
1. Making a purchase by credit/debit card
Making a purchase by credit or debit card could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order. You will then be transferred to our secure server service which is provided by HSBC.
We accept credit/debit card payment using the following cards only:
Mastercard,
Visa credit
Visa debit
Electron
Maestro
Switch/Solo
We do not accept American Express, Barclaycard or Diners Club.
2. Making a purchase against invoice (UK schools only)
We welcome orders from schools, to be paid for against invoice, provided that they are supported by an official purchase order number and are delivered to the school placing the order. The minimum order value that we accept on this basis is £20 (incl VAT and shipping).
Shipping And Handling
Within the United Kingdom:
Your order will be sent by Royal Mail within the UK as follows:
- Packages which can be sent as "Letters" or "Large letters" will be sent by First Class post irrespective of weight. (These will be orders up to £20 in value and will only include stickers, stampers, certificates and sticker charts). It is not necessary to select "First Class" for these packages).
- Packages which have to be sent as a "Packet" will usually be sent by Second Class post if under 1.5 kg or Parcel Post if over 1.5 kg. If you wish to have a package which will probably be sent as a "Packet" (ie one conatining posters, trimmers etc) sent by First Class post please select "First Class post" from the post options.
To the rest of the world:
Your order will be sent by International Airmail Small Packets.
We do not normally use a track and trace service though you can select a "signed for" delivery.
Delivery Schedule
We normally despatch orders within 48 hours of receiving them.
UK customers should receive their order within 5 working days of placing it. Customers outside the UK should receive their order within 5 working days of placing it.
Back Orders
If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you and notify you by email that the item(s) ordered is on back order. You will have the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
Tax Charges
Within the UK:
All orders received are subject to VAT at 15%. All prices displayed include VAT at this rate unless the materials comprise teaching books, wholly or in part, which are zero-rated.
Concerning the recent reduction in VAT we have decided not to pass the 2.13% reduction on to our VAT-paying customers as we felt that this was too small an amount on our relatively low-cost items to make it worthwhile when set against the inconvenience of making nearly all our the pricing information in our new and widely-distributed brochure inaccurate as this would doubtless have led to confusion for those placing orders based on this pricing information. Instead, we decided to reduce our shipping charges by around 2.5%, thereby still passing a reduction onto our VAT-paying customers and offsetting the effective rise in ex-VAT prices for those who are not net VAT payers.
Within the EU (European Union):
All orders received from individuals within the EU are subject to VAT at 15%. Orders received from VAT-registered organisations within the EU are also subject to VAT at 15% unless a VAT number is provided in which case they are exempt from VAT.
Outside the EU:
All orders are exempt from VAT (sales tax).
Credit Card Security
All credit card transactions are conducted on the HSBC secure website using 128 bit encryption. No credit card information is held on our computer.
Guarantee
We guarantee your satisfaction. If any product ordered reaches you in a deffective or damaged condition we will replace it as quickly as possible at our cost. Our liability is limited to replacement only and we accept no responsibility for any consequential damages howsoever caused.
